Entertainment-News Blog: Entertainment-Books News Entertainment-Books Aid Library: November 21, 2007  OXFORD - The Friends of the Library reminds area residents that 2008 editions of the Fairfield County and New Haven/New London Entertainment-Books are available through mid-December at the Oxford Public Library for $25 each (other counties available upon request). This year, each Entertainment Book purchased through the Friends will be accompanied by a $10 voucher and will provide access to coupons for a two-week period at a selected vacation destination. Books, including all other available editions, may be purchased at www.entertainment.com. When ordering on line, the Friends ask that group code 74386 be used to ensure that FOL receives proper credit. Books may also be purchased at the new Oxford Post Office located at Omniprint on Route 67. Checks should be made payable to the FOL. Proceeds from the sale of these books benefit the Oxford Public Library Building Fund and programming. Any questions or requests for other editions may be directed to Chair Dianne Martines at 203-592-3091. Entertainment News Blog Comment: Entertainment books have always been in much demand by all the age groups at all the times in the past and will keep doing so in future as well. In fact it is entertainment that has the real demand whether in the shape of a book, or a movie, or music or even sex! The only condition is that it should have an easy approachability. Nobody is going to take big pains for as casual a thing as the thrill of entertainment. We are safety cautious people first of all, and it is then only once we are fully secured that any such thrill is sought for. Still, if the entertainment is in the form of a book, it has all the possibilities of activating our brains more than any other form does, which mainly excite our sensations more than our thoughts.
