The Minister of Education Professor Dr. Wijit Srisa-Aan emphasized the government’s policy of educating and promoting good ethics and good deeds to lead to the country’s Gross Happiness as one of the top priorities for Thai education. He mentioned this while chairing a meeting of educators under the private institutes of vocational educations held at Royal Phuket City hotel on Saturday. The ministry is conducting training for teachers’ development, improving materials plus ethics which needs all parties’ contribution and participation. The participants were also asked to provide education in serving local needs in response to the markets.
Education News Blog Comment:
It's not only ethics in education reform that we need. What we really need is a total revolution in the field of education. We need to change our education system at its very root.
Education is knowing the history of what mankind did till date, so that we take our next step further from where our fellow human beings already took the humanity to; and not start from scratch, back from ABC again.
History is always a story, and the biggest strength of a story is the interest it creates in its listener.
Story telling is an art and not everyone can become a good storyteller. Only s/he can do who her/himself has an indomitable interest in the creator as well as in the subject of the story.
Can we search for such great storytellers as our teachers in our new education system?
