Family-Guy Blue Harvest DVD Sweepstakes:

December 28, 2007

Family Guy

Star Wars celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007, so what better way to pay tribute than mock the sci-fi saga with one of today's funniest families. That's precisely what Seth MacFarlane and his writers did in Blue Harvest, a two-episode Family-Guy spoof of A New Hope which aired last fall and comes to DVD on January 15.

About Family-Guy Blue Harvest: The laughs come full Force when the Griffin clan puts a freakin' sweet spin on the greatest sci-fi saga ever told! With Peter playing the swashbuckling Han Solo, Lois as the sexy Princess Leia, Chris as an adolescent Luke Skywalker, Brian as a well-spoken Chewbacca, and Stewie finally embracing his dark side as Darth Vader, who knows what will happen.

Family Blog Comment:

Family Guy

Family Guy is an American animated television series about a dysfunctional family in the fictional town of Quahog, Rhode Island.

It was created by Seth MacFarlane for Fox Broadcasting Company in 1999.

The show uses frequent "cutaway gags" — jokes in the form of tangential vignettes that do not advance the story.

Family Guy was canceled once in 2000, and again in 2002, but strong DVD sales and the large viewership of reruns on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim convinced FOX to resume the show in 2005.

It is the first canceled show to be resurrected based on DVD sales.

Long live the family guy!
