Go Goa
I am writing about my planned Goa trip though I love to travel alone purposeless to unknown interiors exactly like you have suggested. I am not here to curse you (owner of this site). You are absolutely right, but we must keep pace (racing) with time!
And yes, I am a calculative person who only does those things that return benefit to him. I must say, why not? How can one waste his/her time in pondering upon such useless stuff? No one is interested in these unproductive things.
But I am. (Shhhhh.....don't tell anyone!)
I must say what I think is that when you were young you might not have been allowed to do so as well. Isn't it?
OK, let me share my trip with you in a different way:
I have been to many places like Manali, Nanital, Dehradun, Goa and more. When I was a kid, my parents took me there, but I didn't get the freedom to enjoy them completely as they wouldn't leave me free. So I compromised a bit and enjoyed as much as I could. After that our family didn't get time to go for a trip.
Later I got the freedom to go on my own with my batch mates, like I went to Goa with my college friends and enjoyed there a lot.
I will tell you an instance. I covered the distance to Goa by train. In fact, I enjoyed a lot in the train but only before reaching there. What happened, as the train reached Goa, that I was tickling one of my friends and immediately after that I stood suddenly up as I started to run, and banged my head into the upper berth.
It started bleeding profuse. So I was taken to the train hospitality service. They bandaged my head.
After that all others checked in the hotel but I was lying admitted in the hospital as the doctor said my wound might need a stitch for which I should wait there only in the hospital.
After they relieved me, we visited different beaches and went for adventure sports like para sailing, water mo-bike et cetera. But I couldn't do the parachute because I might faint. So I went for bike. What happened there that I fell from the bike due to the ignition key coming out somehow, and the driver and I were in the sea! I was wearing a life jacket so I was saved. But it was an experience of its own kind.
If you take a look at all my tours, I was never completely free. Some or the other authority was always there to take care of me. I needed going for outings because I got fed up of living at one place. So for a change, I went to many places in my life.
But the way you are suggesting, I could never go wandering on a purposeless spree for some part of my life, say a year or so. The fact is that the parents don't allow you for that!
Once I asked my parents for going to visit some place but they didn't allow me, so I stopped asking them. But I always think that I must go somewhere alone without any purpose or planning and discover my travel spirit within.
Let's see when!
