Health-News Blog: Health-Products News Leiner Health-Products corporate credit rating cut to 'CCC' from 'CCC+' - S&P: December 11, 2007  MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) - Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it has lowered the corporate credit rating on Leiner Health Products Inc to 'CCC' from 'CCC+' with a negative outlook reflecting the company's highly leveraged capital structure and lack of pricing flexibility in the highly competitive private-label vitamin market. 'The downgrade follows Leiner's recent announcement that it has hired an advisor and is considering strategic alternatives and that its financial sponsors are expected to contribute 6.5 mln usd of capital,' the ratings agency said. Following its March 2007 voluntary suspension of production and recall of its over-the-counter (OTC) products, the largest US private-label vitamins, minerals and supplements manufacturer, has been challenged to maintain adequate liquidity, S&P said. Humanity is under a misconception that the health products can really do something good to health. The belief springs from the concept that it is something from outside taken in that does more good or bad to the body than something happening inside the body-mind system. We as a species want to hold outside agencies more responsible for our good or bad than we are ready to take the said responsibility on our own self. The fact is that if we are eating stuff that our body is relishing getting full taste of it without needing to have our favorite dishes for the purpose, we just don't need any extra health product in order to keep our body healthy and energetic. Even multi-vitamins as food supplements and antibiotics as healing chemicals either go waste or do more harm than good to the body since they either lack the intelligence of the chemicals produced inside the body or they lack the wholeness of the food produced by nature.
