Humane Society

More Inhumane than Humane

Humane Society

Is human society a humane society?

I find it more inhumane than humane.

Still humans are bound to live in such an inhumane society only!

I everyday see people stopping their cars at the scene of a road accident, for a moment; sympathizing with the accident victim a bit; giving their 'expert comments' to the crowd assembled around, thinking someone in the crowd will take care before the police arrive; and then racing their cars to their destination again caring the least if the victim stays alive
or succumbs to her/his injuries before 'someone' takes care.

We seem to be more bothered about humane societies than about a humane society on earth!

We have no time to waste in such trivial matters!

We are in hurry.

We are running a race.

From humans, we have turned into racing cars.

Very efficient cars indeed!

We are technocrats, we are bureaucrats, we are managers, we are CEOs, we are doctors, we are businessmen; and very efficient ones at these for that matter - but we have lost the touch of humanity in us.

Nothing moves us any more!

How can it! We are running super fast!

We are taking our society toward growth and progress!

Only at the cost of its very members that make it what it is!

Who cares about its being a humane society or not?

It's in the very nature of society that its members interact and cooperate with one another.

That is what the meaning of society is!

In fact, it can be taken to be the proper definition of society as well.

If we interact, we do cooperate too.

That is what the spirit of unconditional interaction is!

But then, we have stopped interacting and started relating instead.

The very fabric of our society has gone corrupted.

A society woven out of the threads of interaction cooperates unconditionally, and is a humane society; like American Cancer Society, Canadian Cancer Society, National Honor Society, National Geographic Society, and Red Hat Society.

Black Label Society is a heavy metal band formed by Zakk Wylde, with nine albums released to date; whereas Dead Poets Society is an 1989 Academy Award-winning film directed by Peter Weir.

But a society woven out of the threads of relationship cooperates only when and where it relates, and never otherwise!

We only bother about the people we are related to. If the victim in the road accident is somehow related to us, we will take all the care on earth to save her/him without even looking toward anyone else around.

How limited are our shallow cages of self, extending only to a few people they are related to!

Relation will never be able to extend itself as wide as to the horizons of turning unconditional interaction.

There has something terribly gone wrong somewhere with the way we designed our basic units of society.

They are stopping us from making it a humane society.

Shall we do something about it?

I am not talking of any utopia society.

In fact, a utopian society orders its virtual bricks for its hypothetical construction to the moral values in society, but unluckily this company is only there on papers yet and not been incorporated so far even in the past thousands of years after its inception.

Society values are only a utopian makeup worn on the ugly face of our modern society that is anything else but a humane society in its essence.

The problem is that the problems in today's society are growing by leaps and bounds and there is no respite from it.

And it is as much there in the high society as it is there with the common masses all around.

Terrorism has come out to be the biggest threat to the expectations of building an ideal society on the face of earth.

In fact, terrorism had always been there on earth, more so in the days of the feudal society as the mainstream of it.

It used to be a still lesser humane society, hence the fall-out against it used to be a bigger one in the past.

But then in those days the fall-out very easily could establish its own little feudal pocket within the bigger feudal power and both coexisted together sharing a silent acknowledgement of each other's sins.

In today's so-called democratic set-up it has no more remained possible for the terrorists to share power with democracy - though both are far from being a humane society, but there is no tuning between the two any more - and hence the problem has gone more acute.

We need to teach our kids the real lessons of the real democratic attitude (and not only a lip service to it!) through their schooling in a democratic society so that they are able to turn the human society a real humane society as they grow up and take the initiative in their own hands.

But where will such a real democratic humane society come from to open such schools as train our kids in the real democratic attitudes?

Right now the entire education scenario is being dominated by the puritan society that is a remnant of its feudal counterpart, especially in the third world countries in which the major part of the world population lives.

In fact in order to raise a humane society on earth, we need turning more democratic inside our minds first, which even the population of the first world is far away from!

That is why our politics is a farce in the name of democracy all through the world.

It is actually plutocracy wearing the mask of democracy!

We need to have a transparent infomation society in each and every sphere of human activity.

We had never had democracy ever, anywhere on earth. What we have in the name of democracy in any part of the world is mere money ruling the masses through a secret society of the elite belonging to that particular geophysical location of the land.

And it is politics that affects society the most.

Do you feel things should change in life, on earth?

If yes, why sit passive?

Let's be in the active vanguard.

Let's try to change the world!

Even trying is its own fun in itself!
