Two KC Suburbs Make Money’s Top 100:
July 17, 2007
Two Kansas City suburbs are on Money Magazine's Top 100 American communities.
Liberty, Mo., is ranked 67th for low property taxes and good schools; Lansing, Kan., is No. 88 for its low crime rate and affordable housing.
The list included communities with populations of 7,500 to 50,000.
Liberty Mayor Robert Steinkamp said the town in Clay County, 15 miles north of Kansas City, has a rural and historic feel close to an urban community.
Lansing Mayor Kenneth Bernard said officials plan to use the ranking to boost economic development in the Leavenworth County town, 28 miles from downtown Kansas City.

Chinese workers make money playing games for Americans:
Monday, July 23 2007
In a Shanghai office building, a visitor from San Diego encountered a roomful of young Chinese, working 12- to 18-hour days - playing online computer games.
"The thing it reminded me of was a factory," said Ge Jin. "But then you see the computer screens."
These are "gold farms," 21st century sweatshops without the perspiration - they are air-conditioned for the computers, not the people. Jin, who has toured dozens of these establishments while pursuing a communications Ph.D. through University of California San Diego, maintains they add a bizarre, high-tech twist to our understanding of the global economy.

Ways To Make Money Online By Taking the Time:
July 22, 2007 by Liane Bate
Here are 5 reasons why time is so important to your online success:
Getting Your Business Up and Running
Time will allow you to get started in your new business venture. You will find your way around your new site, scan through the training program, visit all the links on your site to see where they go, read all your new emails, and see how you can advertise your new business.
In this phase, unless you're a genius, you're fooling yourself if you expect to get rich quick, or even see any money at all for that matter.

Learning New Things/Applying What You've Learned
You need to take the time to start learning. Look for ways to make money online with your business by reading all the training provided.
Be sure that your learning does not stop at reading. It is equally important to start applying what you've learned. This does not mean purchasing everything that is suggested and emptying your wallet towards advertising techniques in hopes that this will bring you to riches quicker. Do that, and your plan will backfire on you, no doubt!
Only time will tell you where your money will be most wisely spent for you. You can't possibly know this right off the bat. Be prepared to lose some money initially, and take the time to learn and try some things out, and see what works best for you.

Meeting, Networking With, and Helping the Right People
Building an online business and finding ways to make money online involves a lot more interaction with people than you may have initially thought. You are not learning all you can unless you are learning from others who are already at a place that you eventually want to be.
Discussion forums in your chosen niche are the best way to meet and network with others in your business. Also having a newsletter list and communicating regularly with your subscribers will really help you down the line.
This is a key technique if you want to make money online, and time will allow you to build these necessary relationships, or at least an online "presence" with others.
There is nothing greater than earning trust and respect online, and having a good reputation if you hope to find ways to make money online.

Gathering Up Enough Links
Throughout your whole business cycle and process, you will want to be sure that you are getting good back-links to your site so that others on the internet can find you.
A great way to get backlinks over time is by writing original articles and posting them to your blog, and to article submission services that distribute your articles to publishers around the internet.
Your links will appear in your very important author bio-boxes at the end, and if you are clever, you will write something that sparks some action on the reader's part to click your links.
In time, if you are learning and applying the right things, you should have hundreds, and thousands of links pointing back to your site. The more time you take to gather links, the more successful your online business will be.
If you are looking for ways to make money online, you can now see that time is what brings you the best results. Taking the time to grow, develop, maintain, and sustain your online business is what will eventually get you to riches!

Lawmakers make money from utilities as relief deal looms:
July 19, 2007
Utility companies have been lining their campaign pockets with money, and a campaign watchdog wonders if lawmakers have compromised their objectivity. David Morrison, Deputy Director of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform, tells WJBC's Beth Whisman Illinois utilities doled out $1.8 million in campaign contributions during the 2005-06 campaign cycle. He says current campaign finance laws only reveal so much.
Senator Dan Rutherford took in $3,000 dollars in campaign contributions from utilities between January and June, but he says those funds haven't swayed his votes.
Rutherford says he doesn't believe corporate donations should be banned, because then only the independently wealthy could run for political office.

How to make money from your home:
July 20, 2007 by Naomi Cleaver
Sharon and Garie Whincrop recently bought an impressive semidetached, seven-bedroom Victorian house in Lincolnshire that they share with their their son Harley, 16, elder daughter Monet, 14, and younger daughter Indy, 8. They had been looking for a house of this size for five years. A hefty mortgage later, they are now the delighted kings of their Gothic “castle”, albeit one in need of a lot of remedial work and the tailoring of its Victorian layout to modern family life.
To help with the mortgage payments, Sharon and Garie cleverly converted their lower-ground floor into a small flat that they let. They are also doing much of the refurbishment work themselves to make the most of their £30,000 budget. Although they feel confident about managing the build, they are “flummoxed” by the interior design, particularly on the ground and first floors. They would like a new family kitchen that will accommodate informal dining and a snug seating area; a study for Sharon; a laundry room; a formal dining room and a boot room, because the house is on the edge of a stunning valley.
Money Blog Comment: We all want to make money whether we do anything else or not in life. We are mere money makers on earth!
Right now money is making us dance to its tune!
And the tune is not a very healthy one!
Neither is it a humane one too!
The dance is a very stressful one.
We have just turned puppets in the hands of money.
As a result, the quality of life has gone degraded.
What is the direction for the future? Are we heading toward a no money society?
Quite possible!
