A Human Innovation against Nature

It is absolutely a human innovation and no animal legacy of ours has been responsible to play any role in it.

In the primitive society, at the start of human civilization; there used to be no wedding as such.

There used to be free sex in the society and reproduction was an exclusively female prerogative.

Bringing up of the kids used to be partly an individual (of the mother) and partly a social (of the tribe) phenomenon.

There was no role of father as such in either of these activities.

In fact, no male ever knew who his kid was.

Even the mother didn't know who the father of her kid was, for that matter.

Life was smooth. There was no problem in the society.

Then the human society entered a new phase of development.

It changed from a hunter-gatherer society to an agricultural one.

Now, this agriculture was an individual activity whereas hunting as well as gathering used to be social ones.

Whatever tools were needed for agriculture started being in the domain of individual ownership now; whereas previously they used to be the tribe's property.

The tribe's property always remained the tribe's property only, without, there, being any break in the chronological graph of its ownership.

But the individual property needed to be willed to someone for being inherited by her/him, once the current owner met her/his death.

The female could easily will it to her kids, as they were the ones who were nearest to her.

But the male faced a problem. Who to will his property to?

He was at a clear loss as compared to the female in the tribe.

But he was physically stronger than she.

So he took benefit of his prowess and framed rules in the society of the tribe dictating a woman not to spontaneously sleep with any man she felt like sleeping with.

Rather she would select one for life and stick to him only, all through her life.

If she broke this rule, she would be committing adultery.

Adultery would be punishable by the tribe as well as by God!

Now the male could at least expect to know who his kids were!

But in order for the female not to commit adultery, it was very much technically required that the male also didn't commit it either.

Since if the male did, the female would automatically get involved; and the system would not work, it would immediately break down!

So both, the male and the female, would write a new sex manual on earth as different from what the nature had written for them!

Thus took the marriage its birth on earth.

A new sex manual was in the making in the name of this new institution where matches were thought to be made in the heavens, who tied the wedding knot later, here on this planet!

It certainly was an anti-thesis of the manual that the nature had written for man.

But the man found faults in it and, hence, set out on the path of adding corrigenda to it.

Marriage was one such corrigendum added to it.

Now, the man and the nature stood face-to-face challenging each other at the level of the basic facts of life.

Nature - including the human nature - was impersonal.

Man - refuting nature (along with her/his own nature) - turned very much personal.

Individuality replaced society.

Family replaced tribe.

Marriage replaced sex.

Self-consciousness replaced tribe-consciousness.

Selfishness replaced the concern for the species.

The width of human perception turned to the narrowness of the personal perception.

Emotion replaced instinct.

A personal mind - having its own personal likes and dislikes - as opposed to the social mind - that always unconditionally loved its likes - took its birth, in turn giving birth to psychology as opposed to sociology.

Now, the personal brains started working as per the whims of these personal minds depending on their personal likes and dislikes.

Now, what were these personal minds structured like?

Unluckily, in their pursuit to own, will, and inherit private property through marriage and family tree; the personal minds got structured against the basic instinctual nature of the mankind.

They needed a faculty called the morals to keep the structure intact against the onslaughts of the urges of nature.

Morals suppressed instincts.

Marriage (a moral) - colored to be a pious institution - suppressed sex (the instinct) by limiting it to one single partner throughout life.

In a way, it rationed sex; imparting to it the status of the forbidden fruit - a dirty but necessary evil!

But the greedy and the selfish personal mind - as it had turned to be - found the forbidden fruit sweeter (the birth of emotion as anti-thesis to moral!) and took a sadistic pleasure in eating it - first, as a rebellious reaction to its instinctual suppression through marriage; and second, as a genuine satiation of its starved instinct of spontaneous sex, although turning spontaneity into impulsiveness!

The man turned worse than the animal!

The war with the nature did that to us.

The vows of marriage were forgotten easily as well as instantaneously, but in the most secretive way!

Even the right hand wouldn't know what the left was DOING!

Or if it couldn't do, it would at least THINK of doing so!

Or else if morals didn't even allow thinking, it would FEEL LIKE doing so!

Or further else if morals went extra stringent not permitting conscious feeling too, it would start HAVING UNCONSCIOUS DREAMS of doing so even against the will of the other, masked under the garb of morally acceptable symbols often undressing themselves either in sleep or in the eccentricities of behavior in the ugliest possible way.

All mental and physical violence on earth stems from these eccentricities of behavior only!

Marriage and family - generated out of the concept of willing and inheriting private property - stand responsible for ALL the ugliness of violence on earth today.

The violence of man on man as well as the violence of man on nature!

This violence has turned us self-centered narcissists, rapists, murderers, gangsters, communalists, fundamentalists, nationalists, secessionists, racists, diplomats, monopolists, imperialists, fascists, soldiers, mercenaries, terrorists, armies and politicians on earth!

Mankind is screaming of their tortures onto it!

Shall we undo what we have done wrong in the evolutionary phase of human civilization on earth?

Can we replace marriage with a more scientifically designed institution that stands in absolute harmony with nature?

When I talk of nature, I mean nature out there in the world we interact with as well as nature in here in the body and the mind that guides our tendencies instinctually and passionately.

Animals only have instincts, not the passion.

Humans potentially have both - the instincts as well as the passion.

Marriage eats up on both - the instincts as well as the passion!

It's the structure created out of marriage only that tears the mind apart in two contradictory domains, namely the morals and the emotions - both fighting an unending war between themselves to the ultimate detriment of health, love, joy, passion, curiosity, truth, beauty, honesty, peace, trust, and the biggest of them all - the sensitivity in the human life.

The cultural structure of marriage, in continuous war with nature, also tears the world apart in between jungles and gardens - mankind preferring the latter over the former - giving rise to the impending global warming that has turned an imminent threat to the very existence of life on earth!

Spontaneous and creative human sex (as different from the impulsive and mechanically instinctual animal sex) has the spirit of loving the rich jungle growth while rejecting marriage as the artificiality of the gardens carved out as funny green patches in the ugliness that the dense concrete jungles of poorly planned cities on earth are!

We cannot afford global warming any more, whether on the planet or in the minds!

Let us immediately get our jungles back inside the very cities we cut them for - coexisting along with them, or else we go dead men walking on earth!
