Rebound relationships: can they ever morph into something more?:

Rebound Relationships

With rocker Benji Madden and Aussie pop star Sophie Monk's whirlwind romance no longer whirling, and with the press and public zealously pouncing on the unlikely twosome's juicy ability to move on faster than you can say "womaniser", it got me thinking about the poor folks that come next in this fairy-tale-gone-wrong equation: the rebound.

Defined by the Urban Dictionary as "going from one relationship to the next right away to avoid the pain of a breakup", public rebound relationships are endlessly chastised, sniffed at, compared to and gawked at. Yet the good thing about it all is that at least the new additions to the Madden/Monk menagerie will know they're the rebound.

The trouble for the rest of the population is that when we meet someone new, we never know if we're a rebound or not ...

Relationship Blog: Rebound Relationships

They define rebound relationships as "going from one relationship to the next right away to avoid the pain of a breakup".

But then who says we can have only one relationship going at one point of time in life?

Why can't we have many together?

The need to rebound will automatically be over.

We will relate to the other so spontaneously driven by the passion on the spur of the moment!

Why on earth do we want to make permanent relationships?

Nothing is permanent. And when you try doing it through marriage, you awfully suppress your spirits in the due course of time.

Can we afford to be a little more honest with our drives that we are made to live with?

We have polygamist biology and not a monogamist one.

And mind is no different from body.

But that is what we are trying to do on earth in the name of morality.

How long shall we keep fooling ourselves in our stupidity?

I pity morals. They do nothing but to make humanity fall ill.

Only a really open, healthy and sane personality can live with the honest passion of the moment from one relationship to the other and then back to the same one again!
