Retreat builds character, personal relations:
December 31, 2007
One of the many exercises at the Triple C School’s ‘Retreats’
Personal development, spiritual instruction, challenge, and reflection, building relations, teacher/student bonding were all a part of the “Retreats” sponsored by Triple C School for middle and high students earlier this month.
Organised and executed excellently by Carmen Reimer, the school’s Spiritual Life Coordinator, this annual tradition attracted almost 100 percent of the students and was amazingly successful.
The students enjoyed activities on the lawn of Pedro Castle, the Prospect Youth Centre, and Kings Sports Center with an overnight stay on familiar territory at Triple C School.
The 180º Ministry Team consisting of Andy Addis and Jonathan Curtis from various parts of the US held the students spellbound through music, humour, teaching, and illusions with a message.
Andy’s thought-provoking messages stirred up the hearts and minds of all of the students and the feedback for the entire experience was positive, encouraging, and rewarding. Many students connected with their teachers, classmates, and above all, with the Lord. Many made first time commitments and everybody is ready to starting planning for next year.
Relationship Blog Comment:
Relationship blog wonders if their interaction turns into a relation!
Relations are the static results of the dynamic interactions between individuals, which bind them in a sort of bond together.
But then the individual remains no more, or say less, free to interact with others since the previous bond tends to stop her/him from doing so.
Only a totally free person, who is free of all the bonds whatsoever, can interact with total freedom unconditionally.
So the equation goes like this:
1. You are a free individual and you interact with someone.
2. You like the interaction, but you don't LIVE it FULL.
3. You want to repeat the unfulfilled interaction in order to live full what you liked living in part.
4. You make commitments and establish a relation.
5. You go busy with your commitments and stop interacting anew.
6. Slowly and gradually you go on losing the tendency to interact unconditionally.
Relations overshadow interactions.
Can we let interactions remain interactions in their totality only, and not turn them into relations?
Life will become much more enjoyable as well as much more honest then.
