Winter Travel Ideas - Hit the Southern Hemisphere to Escape the Cold:

October 11, 2007 by Jeff Loucks

Travel Ideas

Think beyond Florida and the Caribbean when looking to get away this winter. Destinations in Central and South America and even Australia offer a wealth of cultural, experiential alternatives to the standard beach vacation. They're also backing it up with some very interesting tours, featuring a special offer of two free optional excursions for travelers reserving a tour by November 10, 2007.

Here are a few additional reasons to go 'south of the equator' this winter:

-- Diversity - From eco-explorations and culinary delights to cultural experiences and museums, destinations in Central and South America offer an array of activities that appeal to every traveler

-- Language - English speaking countries such as Australia and New Zealand provide a diverse cultural experience without any language barriers

-- Value - With the U.S. dollar falling dramatically against the Euro, non-European destinations offer a better "bang for the buck" and help ensure that travelers won't 'break the bank' buying souvenirs

-- Climate Comfort - With a vast array of destinations, the Southern Hemisphere offers travelers a varied climates, not just tropical temperatures

Travel Blog Comment:

Planning your travel according to the climate, season and weather is one of the best travel ideas and makes the most out of it.

It lets you travel light as well since you don't have to carry extra winter clothing.

It reminds me of the migratory birds that keep changing their habitat according to the season and the climate.

Birds are great travelers in the real sense of the term.

We should take a lesson or two from them and use their biological travel wisdom for our wise travel planning.
