A growing trend by students pursuing their academic studies in foreign countries is having a ripple effect on their parents as well, notes InsureMyTrip. An online provider of travel insurance reports the number of parents seeking peace of mind and travel insurance protection for their students overseas, is also on the rise. "Travel insurance is a 'must have' for students spending time abroad because it provides coverage where many traditional healthcare plans leave off," explains Jim Grace, President and CEO of InsureMyTrip. "To begin with, many national healthcare plans provide limited coverage for their members when they travel outside the U.S. and some don't provide any coverage at all. Additionally, most healthcare plans do not provide coverage for medical evacuation, which is very important for students to carry in case of an unexpected injury or illness, not to mention very costly for parents should they need to shoulder the bill without such coverage." Travel insurance covers medical expenses, financial and other losses incurred while traveling within country or internationally. It is often arranged at the time of booking of a trip and offers coverage for a variety of travelers. Student travel, business travel, leisure travel, adventure travel, cruise travel, and international travel are all various options that are the target of insurance. I have a different question that comes to my curious mind. Why is it that we all are not covered with insurance always - wherever we are and whatever we are doing? Why is it that only s/he who pays the premium gets insured? After all we all are the valued members of the family that our human society is! Why do we waste so much of our time in dealing with these unproductive exchanges of currency? Why don't we device a system that these obvious things automatically get taken care without our wasting energies and attention in them? What good are our computers on earth for? Like the right to work, I demand a right to insurance for every single person just by dint of her/his existence as a member of the human club on this planet!
