Politics-News Blog: World-Politics News 21st century emergence of a savage dictatorship in USA and world politics: September 28, 2007 by Arthur Shaw  Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega spoke sincerely and lively September 25 before the UN General Assembly. President Ortega spoke after George W. Bush, the US dictator, spoke. Bush spoke with the usual insolence, arrogance and conceit that we expect from imperialist leaders. But after President Ortega spoke, Bush was exposed and discredited: "Presidents of the United States change ... they may come to office with the greatest of intentions and they may feel that they are doing good for humanity, but they fail to understand that they are no more than instruments of one more empire in a long list of empires that have been imposed on our planet," President Ortega said, hinting at the low prospects for the candidates in the US presidential election in 2008. President Ortega's point, here, seems to be that the exercise of power of the imperialist US regime is not a matter of personality of this or that top leader, rather it is a matter of imperial essence and the imperial institutionalism of the regime. Former US president Jimmy Carter seems to be one of the few US presidents with a moral sense, but even Carter was warped by imperial imperatives during his term of office. Fortunately, for humanity, Carter seems to have recovered his moral sense after he left the White House. Politics News Blog Comment: World politics is bound to be a farce. What on earth gives to a few the power to rule the rest? Real democracy, when it comes, will eradicate all the need either to rule others or to be ruled by others. Politics is a dirty game of power and power over others does corrupt the one who has it whether through dictatorial means or through the so-called democratic ones. And once it corrupted you, you can no more be a democratic soul ever in your life again. It's something exactly like a lion turning a man-eater! Even if Ortega turns as powerful as Bush right now is, he too will turn as dictatorial within no time! We have seen Mao and Stalin tuning into dictators as dangerous as Hitler was.
